This is what we intend to build next, roughly in order. There are no dates: a
date given to a customer is a promise, and we would rather keep the promises we
make on the [changelog](/changelog), where everything listed already works.

If something here is important to your wedding, plan as though it will not
exist. Everything that does exist is on the [changelog](/changelog).

## Next

The things we are actively working on.

<Milestones>

<Milestone when="In progress" title="Real payments" icon="FairPrice">

Card, UPI and netbanking through a payment provider, replacing the demo checkout.
Invoices, refunds, and partner commissions paid out on a schedule rather than
tracked on a ledger.

</Milestone>

<Milestone when="In progress" title="Faster invitations" icon="MinutesNotWeeks">

Pages should open instantly on a mid-range phone over patchy mobile data,
because that is what most of your guests are using. Caching what rarely changes,
loading photographs more intelligently, and reducing what has to be fetched
before the first paint.

</Milestone>

<Milestone when="Next" title="Guest messaging" icon="CardToLink">

Send the invitation from Amantrika itself instead of copying links by hand.
Personalised links per guest, delivery and open tracking, and reminders to the
people who have not yet replied — without turning into something that spams your
relatives.

</Milestone>

</Milestones>

## Soon after

<Milestones>

<Milestone when="Planned" title="Your invitation in your language" icon="ManyScripts">

Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Punjabi, Malayalam,
Odia and Urdu — with a machine-drafted first pass you review and correct, proper
transliteration for names, and script-aware fonts.

An elder reading the invitation in the language they think in is worth more than
almost any feature on this list.

</Milestone>

<Milestone when="Planned" title="Your own domain" icon="shaadi-card">

Point a domain you own at your invitation, so the link you share on WhatsApp is
entirely yours.

</Milestone>

<Milestone when="Planned" title="After the wedding" icon="Sapling">

An invitation should not stop being useful once the day is over. A private album
your guests can add their own photographs to, and an archive page the invitation
gracefully becomes rather than simply expiring.

</Milestone>

<Milestone when="Planned" title="More occasions, more traditions" icon="mandap">

More themes, and more traditions represented properly rather than recoloured —
each with its own motifs, vocabulary and ceremonies.

</Milestone>

</Milestones>

## Under consideration

Ideas we think are good but have not committed to. Tell us if one of these is
the thing standing between you and a finished invitation.

<IconGrid columns={2}>
  <IconCard icon="mandap" title="Seating and tables">Arrange tables, assign guests, and let each guest find their own seat from their personalised link.</IconCard>
  <IconCard icon="AcrossOceans" title="Livestream">A built-in place for relatives who cannot travel to watch the ceremony.</IconCard>
  <IconCard icon="mithai" title="Gift registry">A registry, and a cleaner way to receive blessings as gifts than posting a UPI ID.</IconCard>
  <IconCard icon="invitation-scroll" title="Printed cards">Order matching printed cards from the invitation you have already designed, for the people you visit in person.</IconCard>
</IconGrid>

## What we will not do

Worth saying plainly, because the absence of these is a decision rather than an
oversight.

<IconGrid columns={2}>
  <IconCard icon="KeptPrivate" title="Sell or share your guest list">Your guests' names and numbers are yours. They are never sold, shared, or used to advertise anything.</IconCard>
  <IconCard icon="CardToLink" title="Require an app">Guests open a link in the browser they already have. No download, no login, no OTP — ever.</IconCard>
  <IconCard icon="nazar" title="Put ads on your invitation">Your invitation will never carry advertising for us or anybody else.</IconCard>
  <IconCard icon="GuidingLamp" title="Take your invitation down without warning">If anything ever has to change about how long invitations stay up, you will hear it from us directly and well in advance.</IconCard>

Missing something? [Tell us](/contact) — what couples and planners actually run
into shapes this list far more than our own guesses do.

## Frequently asked questions

### Are these dates guaranteed?

There are no dates on this page, deliberately. Software estimates given to customers are usually wrong, and a missed date is worse than no date. Items are ordered by what we intend to build next, and things move.

### Can I ask for something that is not listed?

Yes, and it is the most useful message you can send us. What gets built next is shaped far more by what couples and planners actually run into than by anything on this page.

### What has already shipped?

The changelog lists everything that is live today. Nothing on the roadmap works yet — if it did, it would have moved to the changelog.
